Happy Pride Month Fort Worth!

Rainbow coloured hair is great anytime of the year, but it’s especially great to have this June in celebration of Pride Month to pay tribute to the iconic Rainbow Flag! Did you know the LGTBQ symbolic flag was created by Gilbert Baker in 1978? If you’re looking for a way to spice up your look for Pride, this is right up your alley!

We played it safe and kept the colour to a set of extensions but if you’re feeling bold you could also use this technique on your hair!

To achieve this look:

  1. Start by creating a horseshoe form low recession thru crown to low recession
  2. Create another horseshoe right below 1inch to 1 1/2 deep (apex of the ear to optical bone to opposite ear)
  3. Pre-lighten the entire section to pale yellow
  4. Towel dry hair
  5. Subdivide entire section into 6 smaller one to recreate the rainbow
  6. Paint on each section the colors in order (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet)
  7. Make sure you feather to blend and saturate
  8. Let color process 20-30mins
  9. Rinse with cool water/no shampoo but can condition
  10. Styled as desired
